Briatore on Alpine double podium
Alpine's impressive performance at the São Paulo Grand Prix saw them leap from ninth to sixth in the Constructors' Championship, potentially earning the team €29.2 million ($31.82 million) according to executive advisor Flavio Briatore. The team, which had struggled significantly this season, garnered a total of 35 points from the race, a stark contrast to the 14 points they had collected in the previous 20 races. Briatore acknowledged that while luck played a role in their success, the wet conditions favored their car's performance. With three races remaining, Alpine is now three points ahead of Haas and five ahead of Red Bull junior team RB. Briatore's focus since his return has been on streamlining operations rather than making drastic improvements to the 2024 car, as he aims to prepare for the 2025 project. He emphasized a return to lean operations to revitalize the team's competitiveness in Formula 1.
