Greek Police Seize 270kg Cocaine Worth €5.5M, Arrest Three

Authorities in Europe recently uncovered two major cocaine smuggling operations involving large quantities of the drug hidden in shipments. In Switzerland, customs officials at Zurich Airport discovered around 10 kilograms of cocaine concealed in double-bottom suitcases carried by a Brazilian woman arriving from São Paulo. In Greece, police seized over 270 kilograms of cocaine worth more than €5.5 million, hidden inside a container of bananas imported from Ecuador, following a tip from the UK’s National Crime Agency. The Greek police arrested three men, including two Greeks and a Bulgarian citizen, suspected of organizing and distributing the drugs, and continue to investigate further gang members. Both cases highlight ongoing international efforts to detect and intercept drug trafficking through sophisticated concealment methods in shipments and luggage. These busts underscore the collaboration between international law enforcement agencies to combat narcotics smuggling.
