Peruvian Woman Arrested in Bali for Cocaine Smuggling

A 42-year-old Peruvian woman identified as N.S. was arrested at Bali's international airport for attempting to smuggle 1.4 kilograms of cocaine and dozens of ecstasy pills concealed in a sex toy and her underwear. Authorities became suspicious of her behavior upon arrival from Qatar, leading to a thorough search by customs and police, where the drugs were discovered. The woman admitted to being hired via the dark web in April to transport the drugs to Indonesia in exchange for approximately $20,000. She has been charged under Indonesia's stringent narcotics laws, facing the possibility of the death penalty if convicted.
