Kara Lawson Leads Team USA at 2025 FIBA AmeriCup
Duke women's basketball coach Kara Lawson has been named head coach of Team USA for the 2025 FIBA Women's AmeriCup, which will be held in Santiago, Chile. Lawson will be assisted by Old Dominion's DeLisha Milton-Jones and Oklahoma's Jennie Baranczyk, all of whom bring significant USA Basketball coaching experience. The AmeriCup features national teams from across the Americas and serves as a qualifier for the FIBA Women's World Cup and the Olympics. Lawson is highly decorated with a 75-5 coaching record and multiple gold medals, including as head coach of the U.S. 3x3 team at the Tokyo Olympics and as an assistant in Paris. Team USA is seeking to reclaim gold after earning silver in the previous AmeriCup and has a strong legacy in the tournament. Lawson expressed excitement and honor at leading a roster of top American players and working with accomplished coaching colleagues.
