Former Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs has been sentenced to a year of hard labor after being convicted of two misdemeanor animal cruelty charges. The Tuscaloosa County District Judge ordered him to serve 60 days, with the remainder of the sentence suspended for two years based on his behavior. Buggs is prohibited from owning or being around firearms and pets. The charges stemmed from the neglect of two dogs found malnourished on his property, one of which had to be euthanized. Buggs is also facing separate charges of domestic violence and burglary related to an incident involving the mother of his child. Following his legal troubles, he was released by the Chiefs just days prior to the sentencing.
