Mailata Leads Eagles to Super Bowl, Set for Historic Second Appearance

Jordan Mailata is set to become the first Australian to play in two Super Bowls as his Philadelphia Eagles advanced after a decisive 55-23 victory against the Washington Commanders in the NFC championship game. The Eagles will face the Kansas City Chiefs, who are aiming for their third consecutive Super Bowl win. Mailata, who previously played in the Eagles' narrow loss to the Chiefs in Super Bowl LV, expressed his determination to secure a win this time, stating he has 'unfinished business.' The 27-year-old offensive tackle signed a three-year, $66 million contract extension last year, solidifying his position as one of the NFL's top players. He is one of only four Australians to have played in a Super Bowl, with Jesse Williams being the only one to have a Super Bowl ring, albeit without playing that season. The upcoming Super Bowl is scheduled for February 9, 2024, in New Orleans.
