Atlanta's Peach Drop Festival Returns for 2024

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens has announced the return of the city's cherished New Year's Eve Peach Drop Festival, set to take place on December 31 at Underground Atlanta. This year's event will feature Grammy-winning rapper Big Boi as the headliner, alongside performances from rock band Neon Trees and R&B artist RES, with local artists also participating. The festival, which marks its return after several cancellations in recent years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and funding issues, is expected to attract around 100,000 attendees. The stage will open at 6 p.m., culminating in the iconic 800-pound peach drop at midnight. The event will be produced by Live Nation as part of a new agreement with the Atlanta City Council, which allocates up to $650,000 for production costs. Dickens emphasized the festival's role in celebrating Atlanta's cultural renaissance and providing an exciting way for residents and visitors to welcome the new year.
