Ukrainian Forces Halt Russian Advance, Recapture Villages Sumy Region

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukrainian forces have successfully recaptured the village of Andriivka in the northeastern Sumy region, halting the Russian advance in the area where Russia had amassed around 53,000 troops. The fighting is concentrated along the border with Russia, with combat occurring up to seven kilometers from the border, and Ukrainian troops have stabilized positions in the region, preventing further Russian penetration. Zelensky credited the 225th Separate Assault Regiment for their role in offensive operations and reported that Russian forces have suffered losses in key settlements like Andriivka and Kindrativka. Ukrainian forces are also maintaining their positions near Pokrovsk and Kupiansk, with no Russian advances reported in these eastern and northeastern directions. Additionally, Ukrainian strikes in the Tyotkino area of Russia's Kursk region have forced Russian troops to redeploy, limiting their ability to push deeper into Sumy. Fighting continues in other areas such as Luhansk and Dnipro regions, but no significant territorial gains have been made by Russian forces.
