Across various locations including Dublin, Hartford, Llandovery, and New York City, LGBTQ+ film festivals and events are spotlighting queer and trans experiences through diverse cinematic storytelling this June. Dublin's Queer Spectrum Film Festival and related events focus on intimate narratives and themes such as trans intimacy and healthcare, while the Connecticut LGBTQ Film Festival, now in its 38th year, will screen 91 films to provide a safe space amid political challenges faced by the community. In Wales, a collaboration with Cardiff’s Iris Prize highlights Welsh-language queer films that emphasize both Welshness and queerness, with films like 'Teth' offering positive trans representation and celebrating cultural identity. The Tribeca Film Festival adds to this landscape by presenting over two dozen queer features and documentaries, including character-driven stories about family and identity.
