Patriots Sign London Native David Olajiga via International Pathway
The New England Patriots signed defensive tackle David Olajiga as an International Pathway Program player ahead of their 2025 training camp, adding depth to their defensive line without counting against the 90-man roster limit. Olajiga, a 27-year-old London native, spent the 2024 season on the Los Angeles Rams' practice squad after going undrafted out of Central Missouri, where he had a productive college career. Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing around 310-315 pounds, he primarily projects as a backup nose tackle behind Khyiris Tonga and provides additional practice support. His signing follows the release of Wilfried Pene, the Patriots' previous international pathway player, and continues New England’s trend of developing international players through the IPP, as seen in the past with Jakob Johnson. While Olajiga is considered a long shot for the 53-man roster, the Patriots hope he can develop over time into a rotational player, similar to other IPP success stories. The team benefits from Olajiga's international status, which allows roster flexibility during training camp and potentially on the practice squad.
