Gus Van Sant Directs 'Killing Gawker' Film

A film titled 'Killing Gawker' about Hulk Hogan's legal battle with Gawker Media is in development, produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's company, Artists Equity. The movie, based on Ryan Holiday’s book 'Conspiracy,' will be directed by Oscar-nominated Gus Van Sant. Hogan, who won a $140 million judgment against Gawker in 2016 for invasion of privacy, is reportedly indifferent to the project but may take legal action if the film violates his privacy. Affleck and Damon may also star in the film, with Affleck potentially playing Hogan. Hogan's lawsuit, funded by Peter Thiel, led to Gawker's bankruptcy and eventual shutdown.
