The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has announced the inaugural Delhi Premier League 2024, running from August 17 to September 8, featuring 33 men's and seven women's matches at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The league includes six zone-based franchises: North Delhi Strikers, East Delhi Riders, Central Delhi Kings, West Delhi Lions, Purani Delhi Royals, and South Delhi Superstarz. Each team has made significant player acquisitions, with the North Delhi Strikers acquiring Kolkata Knight Riders' Harshit Rana and Suyash Sharma, while the East Delhi Riders secured IPL players Anuj Rawat and Simarjeet Singh. The Central Delhi Kings, owned by Utech Developers, feature former India Under-19 captain Yash Dhull among their ranks. The West Delhi Lions boast IPL stars Navdeep Saini and Hrithik Shokeen. The tournament promises exciting matchups, including the opening games on August 18, where East Delhi Riders will face Central Delhi Kings and West Delhi Lions will take on North Delhi Strikers.
