North Andover Officer Shot During Court Order Incident
An off-duty North Andover, Massachusetts, police officer was seriously wounded after being shot by an on-duty officer during an armed confrontation while a court order was being served at her home around 6:30 p.m. Monday on Phillips Brooks Road. The off-duty officer, a woman, was transported to a Boston-area hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive. Authorities have not released the names of those involved or details about the court order and the cause of the confrontation. A baby was present in the home at the time but was unharmed. No on-duty officers were physically injured, though standard post-incident stress evaluations were completed. The Essex County District Attorney's Office and Massachusetts State Police are investigating the incident.
