Ohio State Wins First Big Ten Title, Advances to NCAA Tournament

Ohio State captured its first-ever Big Ten men's lacrosse title with a 14-10 victory over Maryland, propelled by early scoring and standout performances from Garrett Haas and tournament MVP goalie Caleb Fyock. As Big Ten champions, Ohio State earned an automatic berth to the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championship, where they will be joined by at-large qualifiers Maryland and Penn State. Ohio State, the No. 4 seed, will face defending champion Notre Dame in the first round, while No. 2 seed Maryland and No. 5 seed Penn State also host opening games. The NCAA tournament field features 18 teams, with games held at campus sites before progressing to neutral venues for the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final. This marks Ohio State’s seventh NCAA tournament appearance after a historic season including both regular season and tournament Big Ten titles. Maryland is making its 22nd consecutive tournament appearance, and Penn State enters for the third straight year.
