Salvation Army Expands Angel Tree Programs Nationwide

The Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program has been instrumental in providing gifts to children and seniors across various regions this holiday season, despite facing challenges such as lower gift contributions in some areas. In Hays, Kansas, the program registered 114 children, with a last-minute surge in community participation, although 40 gifts remain outstanding. Meanwhile, in Jackson, Mississippi, over 10,000 gifts were collected for nearly 2,000 recipients, including a notable increase in senior sign-ups. St. Johns County, Florida, saw an increase of 150 children needing assistance, helping 550 kids this year, alongside gifts for seniors in need. The Quincy, Illinois, chapter supported 569 angels, providing essential gifts and meals to families during the holiday season. These programs highlight the importance of community support in ensuring that families in need can experience the joy of Christmas.
