Indian Railways has launched its first 20-coach Vande Bharat Express train from Varanasi to New Delhi, aimed at improving travel efficiency and accommodating increasing passenger demand. Flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the train can carry 1,440 passengers and covers the 771-kilometre journey in approximately eight hours, making it the fastest on this route. This upgrade from the previous 16-coach models is expected to ease booking pressures and provide convenience for last-minute travelers. Additionally, a new Vande Bharat train connecting Agra Cantt to Varanasi is set to begin regular operations on September 23, with a travel time of seven hours. Another Vande Bharat Express connecting Durg in Chhattisgarh to Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh has also been launched, reducing travel time from 11 hours to eight. These developments reflect Indian Railways' commitment to modernize its services and enhance connectivity across the country.
