Trial Set for Four Accused in Hutton Murder

Four individuals, Barry Murray, Scott Henderson, Brian Millar, and Carri Jane Stewart, are set to stand trial for the murder of Steven Hutton in his Dundee home on March 30, 2024. They allegedly forced entry into Hutton's flat and attacked him with a hammer, knife, and screwdriver, resulting in his death the following day at Ninewells Hospital. Stewart faces additional charges related to domestic abuse as the crime is said to have been aggravated by her prior relationship with Hutton. All four defendants have pleaded not guilty and are also charged with attempting to obstruct justice by allegedly washing clothes worn during the crime. The trial is scheduled to commence in November 2025 and may last approximately three weeks, overseen by Judge Lord Colbeck at the High Court in Glasgow.
