Burglars Tunnel Through Wall Steal Half Million In Arcadia Jewelry Heist

News summary

L&Z Jewelry in Arcadia was ransacked overnight between Oct. 17 and Oct. 18 after burglars gained access to a neighboring vacant business’s roof, tunneled through a wall into the shop and cut open the safe, leaving a gaping hole in the ceiling and extensive interior damage. The suspects disabled the alarm system and cameras and were reportedly inside for hours, taking nearly all gold, diamonds, chains, rings, cash and customer items—owners estimate losses as high as around $500,000. Video and photos show nearly every case and display emptied and insulation, wiring and drywall torn down from where the entry was made. Owners Feihong (Pepei/Pi Pi) and Pi Pi say the couple used their savings to open the shop two years ago, are devastated by the loss, plan to keep selling costume jewelry for now, and are warning other small businesses to take precautions. Arcadia police’s commercial robbery unit is investigating and ask anyone with information to contact the department at 626-574-5151.
