Apple's Executive Departures Amid Restructuring

Apple is experiencing a series of executive departures, notably with the exit of Carol Surface, the company's first-ever Chief People Officer, after less than two years. Surface's role, created specifically for her, involved overseeing HR, inclusion, diversity, and recruiting for Apple's 160,000 employees. Her departure is part of a broader shakeup, with other executives such as Matt Fischer, Luca Maestri, Dan Riccio, and Dan Rosckes also leaving or changing roles. Following Surface's exit, Deirdre O'Brien, a long-time Apple executive, will reassume responsibility for HR alongside her current retail duties. Sjoerd Gehring, VP of Talent, is also leaving to become Chief People Officer at Citadel, likely due to the discontinuation of the Chief People Officer role at Apple.
