Porter Airlines, BMO, Mastercard Launch Canada’s First Travel Rewards Credit Cards

Porter Airlines, in collaboration with BMO and Mastercard, has launched two new BMO VIPorter Mastercard credit cards, marking the first Canadian travel credit card program that provides immediate frequent flyer benefits and accelerates travel rewards. The initiative, which has already attracted over 30,000 pre-launch applicants, aims to enhance how Canadians earn and redeem travel benefits. Cardholders will automatically receive VIPorter Avid Traveller status, allowing them to earn up to 6 points per dollar on Porter flights and 2 points on everyday purchases like transportation and groceries. The welcome offer includes waived annual fees for the first year and the potential to earn up to 70,000 VIPorter points, translating to approximately $2,400 in value. This program is part of Porter's strategy to reshape the travel experience for Canadians by simplifying access to loyalty rewards. The new credit cards are expected to cater to the growing demand for innovative travel solutions as the industry rebounds.
