Tour of Britain 2019

The Tour of Britain kicked off in Kelso, attracting large crowds and featuring top cyclists, including local riders Callum Thornley and Oscar Onley. French cyclist Paul Magnier won the opening stage, which spanned 182km and included notable Scottish towns. Meanwhile, at the Paralympic cycling events, Sophie Unwin and her pilot Jenny Holl secured gold in the Women’s B 3000m individual pursuit, while James Ball and his pilot Steffan Lloyd triumphed in the Men’s B 1000m time trial. Great Britain continued its strong performance by defending its title in the open C1-C5 750m team sprint. Additionally, the Cambridge Festival of Cycling is set to take place throughout September, offering various events to promote cycling within the community. The Tour of Britain will continue with Stage 2 in Tees Valley, promising challenging climbs and a vibrant atmosphere for fans.
