He met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and President Sergio Mattarella, discussing enhanced cooperation in trade, energy, investment, research, and support for Ukraine. Carney also met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, affirming Canada's steadfast support for Ukraine's sovereignty and calling for increased pressure on Russia to achieve a ceasefire. Additionally, Carney engaged with European Union President Ursula von der Leyen on partnerships involving artificial intelligence, clean energy, and minerals.
