Scottie Scheffler Wins Napa Procore Championship, Solidifies No.1 Golf Status
Scottie Scheffler, the world’s No. 1 golfer, surged to victory at the Procore Championship in Napa, finishing at 19-under-par and edging out Ryder Cup teammate Ben Griffin by one stroke. Scheffler’s performance included a final-round 67 and a standout 8-under 64 in the third round, overcoming an uncharacteristic double bogey to clinch his sixth win of the season. Griffin, a Ryder Cup rookie and captain's pick, led for much of the tournament but faltered with a bogey on the final hole, finishing just behind Scheffler. The event also featured top amateur Jackson Koivun, who contended closely and held second place, highlighting the mix of established and emerging talent. Both Scheffler and Griffin used the tournament as a tune-up before representing the U.S. in the Ryder Cup, with U.S. captain Keegan Bradley encouraging strong competition to build team chemistry. Scheffler’s back-to-back seasons with six or more PGA Tour wins place him among golfing legends Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, and Jack Nicklaus.
