Multiple Fatal Pedestrian Crashes Reported Nationwide
Several fatal and serious pedestrian crashes occurred across the U.S. this week, drawing attention to road safety issues. In South Los Angeles, a man in his 60s was killed in a hit-and-run, with police offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. In Las Vegas, two separate crashes involved a juvenile pedestrian in critical condition after a northwest valley incident, and a man killed in southeast Las Vegas after being struck by a Toyota Tacoma while crossing outside a crosswalk; the driver in the latter remained at the scene and showed no impairment. San Francisco saw a pedestrian and their dog killed in a South of Market neighborhood collision. Additional fatal incidents occurred in Ferndale, Michigan, and Bradenton, Florida, both still under investigation. In Reno, a pedestrian was seriously injured, but speed and impairment were not considered factors.
