Joe David Campbell, a 39-year-old man from North Branch, Minnesota, has been charged with multiple counts of criminal vehicular operation following a crash that critically injured a 6-year-old girl and injured three others. The incident occurred Saturday morning near a Kwik Trip gas station when Campbell, allegedly speeding and fishtailing, collided with another vehicle. Despite claiming that a female passenger was driving, surveillance footage and other evidence contradicted his assertion. The 6-year-old girl was airlifted to Gillette Children's Hospital, where she has been intubated and is in intensive care due to bleeding on the brain. Campbell, who exhibited signs of intoxication and erratic behavior, remains in custody, with a blood test pending. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.
