Indian Cyclist Arshad Shaik Fails to Advance

Indian cyclists Arshad Shaik and Jyoti Gaderiya faced disappointing outcomes in their track cycling events at the Paris Paralympics, both failing to advance beyond the qualification rounds. Shaik finished last in the men's 1,000m time trial C1-3 with a time of 1:21.416, and also placed ninth in the men's 3,000m pursuit C2 event. Gaderiya secured 11th place in the women's 500m time trial C1-3, while also finishing last in the women's 3000m pursuit C1-3. Both athletes, who have overcome significant personal challenges, are set to compete in upcoming road cycling events. Shaik will participate in the men's time trial C2 and men's road race C1-3, while Gaderiya will compete in the women's time trial C1-3 and women's road race C1-3. The C1 to C5 categories cater to athletes with prosthetics or limited limb movement.
