Wichita State Hires Josh Eilert Assistant Coach After Utah, West Virginia Stints
Wichita State University has hired Josh Eilert as an assistant men's basketball coach, replacing Quincy Acy who left to spend more time with his family. Eilert, a Kansas native, brings over two decades of experience from major programs including Kansas State, West Virginia, and Utah. He served as interim head coach at West Virginia for the 2023-24 season and at Utah for the final six games of the 2024-25 season. During his 17 seasons at West Virginia, Eilert contributed to 11 NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Final Four in 2010. Eilert's extensive responsibilities have included player development, recruiting, scouting, and various operational roles, underscoring his comprehensive coaching expertise.
