New Jersey Teacher Charged with Sexual Assault

Laura Caron, a 34-year-old teacher from New Jersey, has been arrested on multiple charges, including aggravated sexual assault, for allegedly having a child with her former student, who was just 13 years old at the time. The allegations came to light after the victim's father noticed a resemblance between his son and Caron's child in a social media post. From 2016 to 2020, Caron lived with the boy and his siblings, during which time she reportedly engaged in inappropriate sexual relations with him, leading to her pregnancy and the birth of the child in 2019. The victim's sister corroborated the allegations, stating she often found her brother in Caron's bed and had concerns about their relationship. Following the father's December 2024 social media post, authorities initiated an investigation, leading to Caron's arrest. She is currently being held without bond and has been placed on paid administrative leave by the school district pending the investigation.
