Rapper NBA YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, has agreed to plead guilty to a federal gun charge as he moves his case from Louisiana to Utah, where he faces additional charges related to a prescription drug fraud ring. The transfer was approved by U.S. attorneys from both jurisdictions, allowing Gaulden to waive his right to a trial in Baton Rouge. He has been charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, with allegations stemming from a 2020 incident during a music video shoot. While awaiting trial, he has been held without bond at Weber County Jail since May. Alongside the gun charges, Gaulden is also facing over 60 felony counts connected to the alleged fraud scheme in Utah, which includes identity theft and drug-related offenses. His next court dates are scheduled for August 29 and September 23 for separate hearings in Utah.
