Spanish Citizen Arrested Near U.S.-Mexico Border

On January 3, 2025, U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a 44-year-old Spanish citizen near Dulzura, California, who was wanted by Interpol for sexual abuse of a minor. The arrest occurred during an immigration inspection of a suspicious SUV on State Route 94, where two passengers were also found to be in the U.S. illegally. Record checks revealed that the driver had overstayed his visa and was subject to an Interpol Red Notice, which requests law enforcement worldwide to provisionally arrest individuals pending extradition. The man had also been sought by U.S. Marshals and ICE due to the Red Notice. Following their arrests, the driver and passengers were processed for removal, and the vehicle was seized. Interpol was notified of the man's arrest shortly thereafter.
