The indefinite strike by around 3,000 government doctors in Haryana continues as talks with the state government fail to meet key demands. Striking doctors, represented by the Haryana Civil Medical Services Association (HCMSA), are seeking the formation of a specialist cadre, a career progression scheme, no direct recruitment of senior medical officers, and a reduction in bond amounts for postgraduate courses. Despite assurances from the government and extensive meetings, no significant progress has been made, leading to disruptions in healthcare services across the state. Long queues and inadequate care have been reported in hospitals despite alternative arrangements by health officials. Four doctors, including HCMSA president Dr. Rajesh Khyalia, have begun an indefinite hunger strike to press their demands.
