Funerals Honor Three Firefighters Killed in Bicester Motion Fire

Funeral services have been held for two firefighters who died in tragic circumstances related to their duties. Roberto Flores, a retired firefighter/paramedic from the Oswego Fire Protection District, passed away after a 13-year battle with occupational cancer, and his funeral required a temporary closure of Douglas Road in Oswego to accommodate attendees and traffic flow. Martyn Sadler, who died in a major fire at Bicester Motion along with fellow firefighter Jennie Logan and a member of the public, was honored with a funeral procession through Bicester, including a pause for a minute of silence and a private service at St Edburg's Church. Sadler was remembered by his family as a born firefighter and a true hero, with firefighters and emergency service personnel lining the procession route to pay their respects. The community was invited to support the procession, with traffic adjustments and road closures implemented to facilitate the event.
