Toyota Partners with Haas in F1 Return

Toyota is re-entering Formula 1 after a 15-year hiatus through a technical partnership with the Haas F1 team. Although Toyota will not revive its own F1 team that competed from 2002 to 2009, it will provide design, technical, and manufacturing support to Haas, with branding appearing on Haas cars starting at the United States Grand Prix. Despite not supplying engines, as Haas has a deal with Ferrari extending through 2028, the partnership may provide opportunities for Toyota to place drivers with Haas. Ayao Komatsu, the Haas team principal, emphasized the mutual benefits of the partnership, particularly in advancing technical prowess and increasing competitiveness in the F1 grid. This move comes as Toyota continues to find success in other racing series like the World Rally Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
