Aidan Nugent Charged with Sexual Assault in Court

Aidan Nugent, a member of Armagh's All-Ireland winning Gaelic football team, has appeared in court facing four charges related to an alleged incident involving a female complainant during the team's celebratory trip to Miami in November 2024. The charges include two counts of sexual assault and two counts of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent. Nugent has denied all allegations, maintaining through his solicitor that any sexual activity was consensual. The initial report to police was made after the complainant returned home from Miami, and Nugent subsequently presented himself voluntarily for police interviews. Bail conditions currently prohibit Nugent from contacting the complainant, and the case is set to return to court on June 3 for further proceedings. The Public Prosecution Service has decided to move the case to Crown Court, with a preliminary enquiry scheduled.
