Two Shootings Leave Multiple Injured; Hilton Head Arrests

Two separate weekend shootings in Michigan and South Carolina left multiple people injured and prompted arrests. In Monroe Township, Michigan, deputies responded around 8:30 a.m. to a shooting on West Albain Road in which two roommates suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds; a 52-year-old resident who was one of those shot was taken into custody after leaving the scene, treated at a hospital and lodged in the Monroe County Jail while that investigation continues. On Hilton Head Island, shortly after 1:30 a.m., deputies found a 17-year-old gunshot victim and later learned an 18-year-old was also hospitalized. Suspects fled the Hilton Head scene, but deputies stopped a matching vehicle after deploying a tire-deflation device and arrested 18-year-old Erick Alexander Martinez Ambrosio, who faces attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and aggravated breach of peace charges, and 17-year-old Jonathan Ambrosio Reyes, charged with fleeing to evade arrest, failure to stop and accessory after the fact. Beaufort County deputies said there is no ongoing threat and asked anyone with information to contact lead investigator Master Sgt. Seifert, while Monroe County officials have likewise requested tips through the sheriff’s office or Crime Stoppers as both investigations proceed.
