RingCentral has launched the AI Receptionist (AIR), a generative AI-powered solution designed to enhance business communications by automating call handling and customer inquiries. Unlike traditional intelligent virtual agents, AIR is easy to deploy directly within the RingCentral phone system, making it accessible for businesses of all sizes. The AI can answer routine questions, provide business information, and intelligently route calls, with early tests showing significant efficiency improvements for users. RingCentral plans to expand the system's capabilities, with support for Spanish and AI-powered appointment scheduling coming soon. Currently, the service is available to select U.S. businesses, and a broader rollout is expected by mid-2025. This innovation is part of RingCentral’s strategy to redefine customer interaction through voice communication, competing with existing systems like Alexa and Siri.
