One Stabbed, Suspect Arrested Near Largo Smoke Shop

A store clerk at a Largo, Florida smoke shop was seriously injured in an unprovoked stabbing on April 14, 2025, after a routine customer request escalated into violence. Surveillance footage shows the suspect, Yesenia Sofia Gonzalez-Aleaga, asking the clerk, Dafir Mohamed Mohamed Dalek, for an item on a lower shelf before attacking him with a concealed kitchen knife. Dalek sustained multiple stab wounds but, with the help of a good Samaritan, managed to detain the assailant until police arrived. Authorities confirmed that the victim and suspect did not know each other, and no motive has been identified. Gonzalez-Aleaga was arrested at the scene and charged with first-degree attempted murder. Dalek was hospitalized with serious injuries and is expected to recover; the investigation remains ongoing.
