Cities Nationwide Celebrate Black History Month with Concerts, Jazz Events

February is being celebrated across various U.S. cities with events honoring Black History Month through music, art, and cultural performances. In Athens, 'Hip-Hop Canvas: Beats, Art & Fashion' will showcase local talent, including step performances and live art, to celebrate Black creativity. Carrboro kicked off its Black History Month concert series with the Chrishawn Darby Quartet, emphasizing the historical significance of jazz and its roots in Black culture. Goodyear will host 'Jazz in the Park' featuring local artists and art activations as part of its Vision & Sound program, aimed at highlighting Black artists. In St. Augustine, the Fort Mose Jazz and Blues Series will feature a lineup of renowned musicians, including Snarky Puppy and Macy Gray, while also supporting the historical preservation of Fort Mose. Additionally, Northwest Philadelphia is engaging its community with a variety of events that reflect on Black history and celebrate cultural identity.
