Tennessee Women's Basketball Player Arrested On Felony Charges

Ruby Whitehorn, a senior guard for the Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team, was arrested on felony charges of aggravated burglary and domestic assault following an alleged domestic dispute at a residence in Knox County. The incident reportedly began after the victim saw Whitehorn in a parking lot and heard glass breaking, leading to a physical altercation before the victim ran inside and locked the door. Whitehorn allegedly kicked in both the front and bedroom doors, broke a mirror, and chased the victim upstairs while attempting to retrieve her phone, which the victim had taken by mistake. Whitehorn claims she was defending herself and trying to recover her property after accusing the victim of taking her passport. Neither party was visibly injured, but police determined Whitehorn was the aggressor and booked her on the charges. The University of Tennessee has acknowledged the situation and is gathering additional information as the basketball star faces a court appearance.
