Paige Bueckers Wins 2025 Honda Sport Award

Paige Bueckers has been awarded the 2025 Honda Sport Award for women's basketball by the Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA), recognizing her as the nation’s top female collegiate basketball player after leading UConn to a national championship. The award makes her a finalist for the prestigious Honda Cup, which will be presented on June 30. Bueckers overcame a torn ACL during her college career and finished as UConn’s all-time leader in scoring average and third in total points, earning three Big East Player of the Year awards. She is now the thirteenth Husky to win the Honda Sport Award for basketball. After graduating, Bueckers was selected No. 1 overall in the 2025 WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings and made her preseason debut. Her collegiate legacy is noted for resilience, leadership, and historic achievement.
