CBS Adds Cast for New Daytime Drama

CBS has announced a new daytime drama titled "Beyond the Gates," featuring an all-Black cast and set to premiere in early 2025. The series centers around the affluent Dupree family in a Maryland suburb just outside Washington, D.C., exploring themes of wealth, family secrets, and societal dynamics. The cast includes notable actors such as Tamara Tunie, Karla Mosley, and Daphnee Duplaix, alongside ten newly announced members including Brandon Claybon as Martin Richardson and Maurice Johnson as Ted Richardson, among others. The show aims to highlight the lives and challenges faced by Black families in a luxurious yet complex environment. Production is set to begin in November 2024, with Michele Val Jean serving as creator and showrunner. This project is part of a collaboration between CBS Studios and the NAACP, marking a significant step in diversity for daytime television.
