Courtois and Le Normand Injured in Derby
Atletico Madrid's Robin Le Normand will be sidelined indefinitely after suffering a traumatic brain injury with subdural haematoma following a head collision in the 1-1 draw against Real Madrid. The 27-year-old defender clashed heads with Aurelien Tchouameni and received immediate on-field treatment before being taken for further medical evaluations. Atletico Madrid confirmed that Le Normand will follow established protocols for recovery from such injuries. Meanwhile, Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is set to miss upcoming matches against Lille and Villarreal due to an abductor muscle injury sustained in the same derby. Courtois' injury, which occurred in the contentious match that saw crowd disturbances and a 20-minute halt, is expected to keep him out for two weeks. Andriy Lunin will deputize for Courtois during his absence.
