After leading 23-3 at halftime, Arkansas State faced a comeback from Troy, who took a 31-26 lead late in the fourth quarter. Clune Van Andel's fourth field goal and Jaylen Raynor's crucial passing helped the Red Wolves regain the lead with a swift 75-yard drive. Raynor finished the game with 349 passing yards and 71 rushing yards, while Wallace contributed significantly with three rushing touchdowns. Troy's Matthew Caldwell, despite throwing for 304 yards, was intercepted at the end, sealing Troy's fate and dropping their record to 1-7.
