Xiaomi launches luxury SU7 Ultra EV at $72,932 in China

Xiaomi has officially launched its luxury electric sedan, the SU7 Ultra, priced at 529,900 yuan ($72,931.72), significantly lower than the initial pre-order price of 814,900 yuan. Founder Lei Jun announced that buyers ordering before the end of March will receive perks, including lifelong access to the company's intelligent driving system. The SU7 Ultra boasts impressive specifications, including 1,526 horsepower and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 1.98 seconds. Deliveries are expected to start in April 2025, with Xiaomi aiming to sell 10,000 units this year. The car has already made headlines for its performance, having set records at the Nürburgring Nordschleife and the Chengdu Tianfu Circuit. This launch marks Xiaomi’s ambitious entry into the luxury electric vehicle market, positioning itself alongside established competitors like Tesla and Porsche.
