Several Tennis Stars Withdraw from Paris 2024 Olympics

Several high-profile tennis players, including Jannik Sinner and Elena Rybakina, have withdrawn from the 2024 Paris Olympics due to various health issues. Sinner, the World No. 1, withdrew due to tonsillitis, while Rybakina was banned by her doctors from traveling after contracting acute bronchitis. Rybakina, who had been expected to compete in both singles and mixed doubles, expressed her disappointment in an Instagram statement. Additionally, Marketa Vondrousova, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics silver medallist, pulled out due to a hand injury. Other notable absentees include Aryna Sabalenka, Ons Jabeur, and Madison Keys. Caroline Garcia has replaced Rybakina in the singles draw, and Daria Saville will face Qinwen Zheng as an alternate.
