Oman Joins ASEAN-GCC, China Summits in Malaysia

Oman, led by HH Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tarik Al Said, participated in the ASEAN-GCC Summit and the GCC-ASEAN-China Summit in Kuala Lumpur to strengthen economic, political, and cultural ties with ASEAN, GCC, and China. Summit leaders highlighted the combined economic power of the blocs and their strategic role in regional stability and global growth. Oman's high-level delegation aimed to advance collaboration on food security, energy, and supply chain resilience. At the preparatory GCC-ASEAN ministerial meeting, Oman reaffirmed its historical ties with ASEAN and advocated for a Gaza ceasefire and support for an independent Palestinian state. Additionally, Oman took part in the 27th GCC E-Government Executive Committee meeting in Kuwait, contributing AI frameworks for public services and climate prediction. These efforts underscore Oman’s commitment to diplomacy, digital innovation, and multilateral cooperation.
