Curren Price Hospitalized After LA Convention Groundbreaking

Los Angeles City Councilmember Curren Price, 74, was taken to a hospital after becoming dizzy during a 7:30 a.m. groundbreaking for the Los Angeles Convention Center expansion. Video shows Mayor Karen Bass assisting him before paramedics placed him in a wheelchair and transported him; he appeared awake and alert. Price’s office said initial medical evaluations diagnosed dehydration and that he will be monitored. Price represents Council District 9, is a vocal supporter of the controversial $2.6 billion expansion, and faces multiple 2023 public-corruption charges with a preliminary hearing set for Nov. 3; he has pleaded not guilty.
