Judge denies mistrial motion

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Paige Reese Whitaker criticized the prosecution for failing to disclose key statements made by their star witness, Kenneth Copeland, who admitted to a lack of truthfulness during a secret meeting. While the judge found the oversight likely unintentional, she mandated that the prosecution undergo training on disclosure obligations. The trial, which is noted as the longest criminal trial in Georgia's history, will restart after a nearly two-month hiatus, with jurors returning on Monday. The defense argues that Copeland's credibility is in question, citing his previous claim of untruthfulness as critical evidence that could benefit their case.
