Sugar Land Space Cowboys Win Triple-A Championship

The Sugar Land Space Cowboys clinched their first-ever Triple-A Championship with a 13-6 victory over the Omaha Storm Chasers at Las Vegas Ballpark, just days after winning the Pacific Coast League title. The Space Cowboys showcased their dominance throughout the season, finishing with 96 total wins and winning both the First and Second Half PCL titles. Shay Whitcomb, who celebrated his birthday on game day, was named MVP after contributing three hits and three RBIs. This championship marks the first postseason appearance for the Space Cowboys since their rebranding from the Sugar Land Skeeters, who previously won two Atlantic League titles. The victory adds to the Pacific Coast League's success, bringing their total championship wins to ten out of eighteen in the Triple-A National Championship history. Baseball will return to the Ballpark in spring 2025 with the Aviators hosting the Reno Aces in a series opener on March 28.
