American Axle Beats Q2 EPS, Merger Approved
American Axle & Manufacturing (AXL) reported Q2 2025 adjusted EPS of $0.21, surpassing analyst estimates, while improved EBITDA margins were attributed to productivity and cost controls amid a slight drop in sales. The company raised its 2025 sales and EBITDA guidance following shareholder approval of its merger with Dowlais, which is expected to enhance its global market position. American Axle shares are down about 21% year-to-date. Cars.com (CARS) posted Q2 2025 revenues of $178.7 million and non-GAAP EPS of $0.41, both narrowly missing expectations, and has missed consensus EPS estimates for the past four quarters. Cars.com also experienced a decline in free cash flow and its shares have fallen over 24% year-to-date. The near-term stock performance for both companies will depend on future management guidance and earnings outlook revisions.
